The per-acre price reported here is the arithmetic mean of the parcel
per-acre prices, what might be thought of as the price of a typical acre. This number is what you'll also find on the Timberland Sales section of MLE Map. If you
want instead to calculate the average price of a sold acre, you should calculate
first the sum of the total sale prices, then the sum of the parcel sizes. Dividing
the first by the second gives you a size-adjusted mean. |
